Bright sunshine, strong winds, then the heavens opened & spoilt it. Then the heavens opened HMS Severn P282 Royal Navy just off Whitby
A real miserable day weather wise, but on the bright side got my car some new tyres & computerized wheel alignment (with some retail therapy) in Darlington. Back to my daughters to pick up Aussie, who had been tormented by her 3 dogs. Stroke me, please..... Let go, it's mine...
Grandson is 18 yrs today, Happy Birthday Luke. Early start & off with Aussie to Ruswarp hoping for better luck than Tuesday. Ruswarp heronry, all four were still sleeping. Ruswarp weir, some residents were just waking up Doe & buck were grazing in the dew laden meadow. Afternoon walk with AussieSandsend beach (for a change) & on the return leg these two, powered hang gliders flew by, one very high whilst the other very low. P&M Aviation - Pegasus Quik - Ultra light trikes
Can not of been more than 40 mins notice of an impending sunset, having been such a miserable day {yesterday}, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Up early & fancied a walk down to Ruswarp, back along the River Esk & into town and see what wildlife was about - basically none! Normally you could possibly see deer, herons, and depending on the tide, some seals resting on the river bank. Thinking about it the nearest bird hide is at Scaling Dam, nothing locally. The flood plain along side the River Esk & railway line (if developed correctly) would make an excellent nature reserve. No car today so Shanks's pony, few from this mornings walk with Aussie. Gold finch LK 272 Guardian Angell - Lerwick, manoeuvres into Parkol dry dock Passing Pannett Park, pigeons preening, as a grey forages fro breakfast.
Chris, Aussie & I had a stroll through town & up towards the east pier for the evenings sunset, the sea was relatively calm/flat.
Weather not looking so clever today, so a few from this mornings walk with Aussie. And a new gate replaces the damaged one on swing bridge.
Preston Park, Butterfly World
A day out for Chris, heard a lot about butterfly world & seen a lot of pictures but we have never visited before, and we were not disappointed, truly mesmerizing. As yet I have not identified each individual butterfly. More to follow tomorrow. |
