before which we had watched two fox cubs frolicking on the cliff top.
Got myself set up on the loch side shortly after 21.00hrs and waited on the off chance the otter would come up the loch.

Brears Distant waterfall Top tip - drive up & along all the side roads, 'cos you can! Glenmore "Why we going there?" 'Cos we can, I want to see an eagle! Polite titters & sniggers from Chris. Half way along the road (deadend) we're past by a 'Wildlife Safari' bus tour. Having reach the end of the road, we parked up & set up, tripod, gimbol, big lens, TC and surveyed the far off crags. Hey presto, eureka - an adult eagle. For over an hour I squinted through the view finder, eyes watering, waiting for it to take off, be joined by a partner. It had other ideas inc it defecated before take off. 'The' only sunset during a camping holiday on Loch Greshornish Whilst taking this photograph an otter, which we had been watching, surfaced, swam ashore & ate a large crab not 10yds from me. No photographs, as changing lenses would of scared the otter, but did manage to photograph the otter a few nights later.
Waternish & Trumpan Church - at one of three 'dark sky' locations, and a 'corncrakes' nesting area. Rogheadh Ardmore point, one of the best kept secrets on the Isle of Skye. Not easy to get to, as the land owner doesn't allow walkers & dogs on her land. So getting here is via the outside edge of the cliff fence, around low water, and studded waders/boots strongly recommended for clambering over the rocks. We did a return trip early one morning, with picnic, to coincide with low water. Boat trips, with swimming & snorkeling from a nearby bay can be booked.
Neist Point lighthouse (the most famous lighthouse on the Isle of Skye), Durinish. From a distance it is beautiful, scenic & peaceful but is an absolute tip once you get up close. The lighthouse cottage used to be a holiday let, now has broken windows, and there is litter everywhere, broken glass, empty champagne bottles in M&S carriers. Our campsite manager informed us that rubbish wasn't taken away from the holiday cottages as the walk to & from the lighthouse & cottage is approx 1 mile, each way, and has since stopped being a holiday let. Few images to show how run down Neist Point lighthouse really is & what the hoards of tourists see on arrival.
Talisker bay, as you can see Chris is suitably dressed for this normally sandy beach. The Isle of Skye isn't called the Misty Isle for nothing. This heron was very successful, and a regular visitor to the shallows next to our tent. It was a joy to watch, and photograph his fishing prowess.
Old Man of Storr the weather was not kind, very strong winds meant I had to physically hold the tripod down, otherwise it would have been blown over. An 1½hr walk to reach this point - not for the faint hearted, sandals, or flip flops (as seen).
Kilt Rock waterfall There are some breath taking scenery but Skye is very poor with many run down properties, scrap cars, caravans filling many a front garden.
Dunvegan village - The Duirinish Stone Dunvegan Castle, sadly no dogs allowed, so drove on to watch the seals & visit Coral Beach. Coral Beach, very popular with tourists & walkers alike - tried some very long exposures so as not to capture any people. It's going to rain #again Highland cattle The weather is closing in. Guess what? It's raining
Our holiday begins with an overnight stop in Pitlochry, and an early morning walk with Chris & Aussie down to the river Tummel below the dam to the foot bridge. No WiFi, no internet, and very poor phone reception here after on the Isle Of Skye #Ideal #ProperHoliday #Camping This early morning angler had caught a 20'lber 5 minutes before we met, showed me the photograph, taken on his mobile before he released it back to the river Tummel.
