DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME I was using an Orion 4.10" (104mm) ID Full Aperture Solar Filter #7733 as I did for the solar eclipse in March 2015 Difficult to spot but Mercury is/was appearing on left hand edge (west side) not to be confused with the sun spot in the middle top 1/3rd. Mercury continued its transit until 19.30 hrs this evening. Focal length 1.28 metres - ISO 100 - f5.6 - 1/125th sec Stacked imagesMy camera was mounted on a level tripod, on the ground and without the use of a pre programmed motorised tracker. ☻ Not the straight line as depicted in the national papers this morning.
Parking at Great Ayton station walking up to Captain Cooks monument, then onto Roseberry Topping, and back. Bluebells were starting to show and quantities varied greatly from place to place. Great AytonPsst, and the pies from D Petch (butcher), opposite the village green, are to die for ♥
