Note:- In fairness {as the Bell Trophy is a 'social event' see invitation above}, of not putting 'top rods' into one team.
As WSAA members arrived and paid their £10 entry fee, I entered the 1st into Team B, the next to pay into Team A etc etc.
If we had not had 16 members or more (in this case 17) fishing / entered then we may only have had one team.
'IF' we had only entered one team, then Cloughton would of won, as our aggregate would of been 1 lb 06 oz 10 drms.
Entering two teams was always recommended by George Dunn, now retired secretary Scarborough Rocks.

From the Bell Trophy Rules:-
A Clubs 'aggregate weight' is determined by dividing the total weight of fish caught by the number of anglers in each Team.
The ideal Team is of eight anglers, any less and the Team must still pay for a Team of eight to enter and the aggregate is still worked out on a Team of eight.
All entrants pay the £3.00 fee (2018) made up of £2.00 Team - Sweeps £0.50 aggregate weight - £0.50 Heaviest Single Fish.
A Team can have more than eight anglers but the total weight is then divided by that number in the Team. Any club with around 14 to 16 anglers (or more) would benefit from entering two Teams, rather than one large Team.
Catches are weighed to the nearest dram, being 16 drams to an ounce. Team aggregates are also calculated to the nearest dram, hence the results can take a while to work out.

Many thanks to the staff, and officials at Scarborough Rock Anglers Social Club for their hospitality.
Getting home for the remaining WSAA members was delayed due to the closure of the Whitby Scarborough road at Cloughton bank.
Temporary traffic lights on Cloughton bank, and the heavy snowfall hampered drivers trying to stop on the descent and consequently made it difficult for those attempting to set off up the hill.
