Knockout Competitions
Whitby Sea Anglers Association runs 2 knockout series.
Singles and Doubles, fished on a wednesday night, 2 weeks apart, with the next round of each on the 3rd week. This means the matches are alternated between a high tide and low tide match.
The Singles knockout rounds start on the 2nd wednesday (Preliminary) of October, first round on 3rd Wednesday, and the Doubles knockout rounds start on the 4th Wednesday of October.
Note:- from AGM 3rd September 2014.
It is £10 to enter both Knockouts - AGM 2nd September 2015
" Dave Perrett asked if price was to stay the same. Mick Beedle proposed £5 for each, seconded James Gilpin. Dave Perrett pointed out it would be a 6/4 break down. Carried "
For the Singles, all entrants names are thrown in a hat and drawn on the 2nd sunday of the season.
For Doubles, entrants are divided in to seeds and non seeds, based on the previous years year end results. So a seed is drawn a non seed as a partner.
WSAA Rule:-
15. In the clubs knockout matches the match must be fished on the stipulated date. If for any reason an angler/s cannot fish, it is then 'their' responsibility to inform their opponent/s and rearrange the match to a suitable date. If the person/s fails to inform their opponent/s the match is awarded to the opposition. If the match is not fished before the next round of the competition then the angler/s unable to fish will be disqualified. If you fish all matches up to next round, toss a coin.
