1 - Chairman’s report.

2 - Secretary’s report.
Good evening all and thank you for attending please do not carry out across the room private conversations, and please address the Chairman when you wish to speak.
Since the Presentation evening the Committee have met twice, in April & July.
A - After the season had closed Jason Ebison and myself did some research, and visited a number of establishments to find an alternative to The Fleece, as a venue for our annual Open match because there had been many complaints.
When this list was completed a committee meeting was called 26th April 2023, and these findings were discussed, it was unanimously agreed we would try Whitby Rifle Club. It is booked and confirmed.
In order to speed-up the Open evening, a number of other scenarios were discussed, and agreed.
Neither Bernard Vasey, nor Jason Ebison fish the match, and very kindly volunteered to set up the venue with both the Open prize table and the raffle prize tables, having collected them from Dave Perrett’s house.
After which they would be manning the weigh-in.
This would free-up Dave Perrett to enable him to crunch the numbers for the prize table.
Saving more time, there will be no food, unless decided on at the Open meeting in October.
It was requested, and agreed the Open poster would display a First Place prize only, enabling Dave Perrett, Treasurer to issue prizes at his digression according to the available prize fund.
Also agreed that the Secretary could call further Committee meetings should he deem it necessary, and further regular meetings would be held so as to keep the Committee informed both ‘in & out’ of season.
It was also agreed that the Committee would meet in January to discuss Presentation evening venues and menus as many had boycotted Dunsley Hall due to the menu.

B - Christmas match sponsorship
Dave Perrett 15th Jan 2023 - Christmas match has lost its sponsors however Richard Deadman sponsors the Heaviest Fish £50 - The Michael Deadman Memorial Trophy, so First place needs to match this.
Proposed members can with both HBoFish & Hfish
Proposer - Dave Perrett
Seconder - Denis Thompson
C - Christmas match payment.
Jason Ebison 18th Jan 2023 - wanted members to pay for the Christmas match 2 weeks prior to the date because it had been a farce trying to get commitment and payment.
A lot of discussion, it is a ‘Catch 22’ situation - you cannot book a venue until you know who is going to fish, but you cannot answer the questions re the food or venue until you know the numbers and can book a venue!!
Denis Thompson ask the question, re the Christmas match date, why can it not be fished on the 10th December?
This would enable members to fish both the Christmas match & the Jamie Richardson memorial match.
Cloughton Open was confirmed as 3rd December 2023.
Proposed Christmas match be fish Sunday 10th December.

F - Sunday League Jason Ebison 6th Feb 2023
Sunday League - No sponsor - No one does scratch card which is supposed to cover costs, so scrap league or get a sponsor or someone runs domino cards as Club cannot continue to fork out.
Not enough members are socialising after the match which is very poor.
With there being no sponsor, after discussion, it was proposed there be no ‘cash prizes’, just the trophies.
Proposer - Dave Perrett
Seconder - Bernard Vasey
Carried.
G - Sandsend trophy
Dave Perrett informed the meeting that the donated ‘lump sum’ was reducing, now £450. Should we reduce the prize to £25 to eke out the funds, or leave it at £50 [giving it 9yrs to run].
Proposed to stay the same and run its course.
Proposer - William Atkinson
Seconder - Bernard Vasey
Carried.
H - Peter Horbury asked each individual if they had any other business, as he had one last item to discuss. All agreed they had had their say.
Peter Horbury asked the question - What happens to the WSAA funds should the Club fold in the future?
A very valid question replied a few members, a good one.
No one wanted the funds to be split amongst the membership, but all heartedly spoke of donations to a charity.
After some very good thoughts and ideas for charities, a proposal was drafted for future Committee members should the Club fold.
Dave Hambley proposed that the WSAA funds go to charity, the wishes of the current Committee [2023 - 2023] instruct the Committee of the day to decide which charity the Club funds go to.
Proposer - Dave Hambley
Seconder - Jason Ebison
Carried.
