The meeting was held at the Pier Inn Hotel, Whitby on wednesday 16th September 1998, 8pm with a very good attendance.
The minutes of the 1997 AGM were read by the secretary Bernard Vasey and were proposed as true by George Middlemas, seconded by Les Spedding.
Finances.
The Treasurers report was read by committee member Dave Perrett in the absence of Dave Johnson (treasurer).
The club accounts showed we started last season with a balance of £849.50 and finished with a balance of £707.19, a loss of £142.
Income.
Subscriptions increased to £161 from 40 members but match entries were down £37.
Open Match only made £9, as against £28 the previous year.
The Ship Inn Open reversed the loss of the previous year with a profit of £52.
Domino cards ceased to run with only £5 instead of the usual £50.
Expenditures.
Subs to the Federation were paid - No Teams entered in knockouts.
Costs on Annual Prizes, Plaques and engraving same.
The Xmas prizes were up £14 to £120.
Annual Dinner guests subsidy of £31 (usual).
Xmas match nearly 320 up as about 35 members attended the event.
Unfortunately a bad dept has arisen £77 was paid to Mr Herridge by mistake (super pool winnings) Open Match.
He has repaid £40 leaving £37 still owing.
Overall the clubs financial position is sound.

It was proposed that the juniors would have their own sections results for the season as well as being included in the club members overall positions results ie:-
1) 1st, 2nd, 3rd placings
2) Heaviest bag of the season
3) heaviest fish of the season.
Offers of plaques and prizes were proposed by Denis Thompson, Paul Kilpatrick and Arthur Storr.
This was proposed and passed by all present.
Also Junior match entry fee rose to 20p.
Match Entry Fee.
Proposed that the match entry fee to rise to £1 in a bid to increase the club funds.

It was raised that better communication inside the club with Doubles and Singles matches, Xmas match.
Heaviest Fish / Bags and positions of weights etc. that the notice board be put back on the wall.
Under Age Drinking.
In the event of Juniors winning alcohol in the Christmas Match that they do not drink it (or any senior member) on the premises. Take it home and give it to your dad.

It was questioned if Tony Neatby of Rods & Reels would consider to be a Vice President.
