The 95th Inter Club Tournament - Bell Trophy

The Scarborough inter-angling-clubs Challenge Trophy, nee the Bell Trophy is run by Scarborough Rocks Angling Club. Local angling clubs are invited to compete for the Sana bell, and on Sunday morning at 8am 72 anglers gathered at the Oasis Café, Marine Drive, Scarborough. The winning team is the one with the greatest aggregate weight.
Registration was completed by 9am, then George Dunn addressed the anglers with the all-important fishing, and weighing-in times, and a few fish sizes. After which anglers departed for their marks of choice between Argyle Gulley, Hayburn Wyke, and Coble Landing, Filey.
Seven teams, 2 from both Filey Brigg & Whitby Sea Anglers+, Cloughton, Scalby Mills, and ‘Scarborough Rocks & South Cliff’. Fishing from 10.00 - 14.00 hrs, sea state was a growing 1 ft Northerly, colour varied greatly from mark to mark. The weather was ‘inclement’ SSWesterly wind 17-31mph and grew in strength bringing heavy rain from midday to match end.

George Dunn, makes a return, and brings the proceedings to order, reminding everyone of the boundaries, fish sizes, and weigh-in location & times.

Snapped 3 off, a tad disappointed, but that's fishing.
At the scales 52 assorted fish were weighed-in for 89 lb 10 oz 04 drams from 31 successful anglers. The Heaviest Fish 5 lb 12 oz 12 drams fell to Dave Ward [Whitby Sea Anglers B]. The Heaviest Bag of Fish James Richardson 10 lb 13 oz 10 drams [Filey Brigg A].
The team with the best aggregate weight, and winners for the 18th time Filey Brigg A - 1 lb 14 oz 13 drams - 3 of their 9 team members weighed-in 7 fish 17 lb 05 oz 06 drams. Scalby Mills weighed-in 22 lb 14 oz 06 drams but had 16 team members, hence their aggregate was 1 lb 06 oz 14 drams.

I entered the numbers into the spreadsheet and hindsight is a wonderful thing but....
'If' Scalby Mills had entered two teams (8), then they could of won.
For WSAA I enter a 'name' as and when the member pays, alternating between Team A & Team B.
As above we entered two teams of 7 anglers, paying for 8 in accordance with Bell Trophy Rules.
