Monday 15th February 2016
Helicopter called into airlift a casualty to James Cook Hospital, Middlesborugh. Finally got round to putting together the nacreous (mother of pearl) sunset into a time-lapse from Tuesday 2nd February 2016 as seen here in Whitby. Or the search for it on two very cold mornings 2°C, a lens warmer is recommended, as the dew point quickly mists up the lens, and plenty of layers!!
Thwarted by heavy cloud & morning moor mist & fog. Last seen in 2005, the alignment of Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Mars & Jupiter. Two stars, Antares & Spica, will/are also be visible in the same area. 07.26 hrs, morning dog walk into town, a really beautiful spectacle looking to the south east at sunrise. Nacreous, from the Latin nacre = mother of pearl These are clouds in the winter polar stratosphere at altitudes of 49,000–82,000 ft Sunset & more Nacreous CloudsGot 1,100 images hope to do a time lapse in a day or two
