Pair of herons were fishing, until the kids kicked off at the rowing boats.
Then they took flight.

Spotted this juvenile heron being very patient for a spot of breakfast fishing, only had small camera with me. 

After everyone had slowly made their way home, a very bright orange moon rose above the horizon.

The finale of the Whitby Regatta and you could not have wished for better weather for the firework display.  Having struggled at Staithes & Runswick Bay Lifeboat weekend firework display with rain and wind last Saturday.
​Even managed to get the 5 minute warning rocket.
The last half a dozen caught me out, as they were so bright and the last one exited the frame.
Nearly lost my house keys in the collection bucket!
An excellent weekend, well done the Whitby Regatta team.

For the close of 'Staithes & Runswick Bay Lifeboat' weekend there is/was a well attended firework display on Saturday night.
​The weather, for photographers, was challenging, very windy and raining.

And the winner was Adam Steele - made three attempts to grab the flag.

Not the best of weather, windy, sunny and heavy rain showers.
