Sandsend beach at high water - 13.20 hrs Low water 19.53 hrs, 1.3 metres
It is not often a Tadpole fish { Raniceps raninus } is brought to the scales, but this 12 oz tadpole fish, 12" long, was caught by Rob Allison. British record is 1 lb 12 oz 12 drm therefore this is 42.9% of British record. Not the biggest Tadpole fish caught by a WSAA member. WSAA records  
Sunday morning dog walk, high water 9.36 hrs, 10 deg C, 1004 mm Hg - windy! Below:- Scad fry and juvenile sand eels washed up on the sand.

Take care:- Wind 1 - south south easterly - 39 mph with 62 mph gusts at 3pm Wind 2 - southerly - 38 mph with 57 mph gusts at 6pm Wind 3 - south westerly 45 mph with 62 mph gusts at 9pm Swell - south easterly 5 deg C before factoring in wind chill. Lesser spotted dogfish - rock salmon  Sea Angler - issue 502 has just dropped on the mat, kick scan of Clubman Series (showing results including December, with 6 results still to go) shows Mick nee Matthew Garbutt in 2nd place with 55 points, Dave Perrett 10th with 39 points, and Andrew Cass 25th with 30 points. Whitby B team are 7th in league. Page 113. "It's Tight at the Top" - Whitby gets a mention as one of the larger clubs taking full advantage of the 'Double Points' for 20 or more anglers fishing. 20 match entries are the maximum, but Whitby Sea Anglers Association can only enter 15 results, max 3/month as it closes at end of February and we missed September due to season starting in October. 
Sandsend beach at 8 am, 1-2 ft of north easterly swell & strong south easterly wind (forecast 36 mph gale force). 983mm Hg & 5 deg C. High water 19.59 hrs 5.2 metres and below at 16.36 hrs.
