Officers from the Fisheries were out in force confiscating all lobsters (100's) and inspecting permits!! No permit, No lobsters.

1538 hrs a flooding easterly sea, plenty of swell and a bitterly cold wind. Hopefully fishing may improve for wednesday night with north easterly swell forecast.

Fished ebb to low water last night 3 1/2 hrs, conditions were spot on. Freshly dug black lug and peeler (frozen), only one 7" codling, (lip hooked) came out.

Wednesday 6th March 2013 will be remembered as a very bleak and dark day as Whitby town was not only enveloped in a thick fog but a dark cloud hung over 'Gazette Towers' as the incredulous story from Johnson Press was the 'garden leave' placed on the Whitby Gazettes' Editor Jon Stokoe. Johnson Press are currently engaged in a cost cutting program to pay back £350m of debt over 8yrs. Full story at
