Sandsend beach 13.00 hrs for the afternoon dog walk. The afternoons dog walk for Aussie & I along a near deserted Sandsend beach, ten minutes later and the heavens opened. Prior to the member group photograph this double rainbow appeared over the east pier as the sunset (must of been a good luck omen - it's where I caught my fish). Back row :- Iain Simpson, Dave Hambley, Matthew Garbutt, John Wrigley, Mike Bowman, Andrew Cass, Paul Short, Dave Perrett, Richard Cope, Colin Stainthorpe, Ben Laws, James Gilpin, Peter Horbury. Seated :- Malcolm Pitman, Paula Pitman, Chris McCarthy (Jnr), Bernard Vasey, Mick Beedle. Since the launch of the new web site for Whitby Sea Anglers Association, back in October 2012, I have compiled, from archives, record species that members have achieved. In the past it was only fish numbers that were recorded at the weigh-ins but now we record all species in our reports. Well done to Mrs Paula Pitman, members reported that it is not often a plaice is brought to the scales, and this one claims the WSAA Record. This was returned to the harbour alive. http://www.whitbyseaanglers.com/members-wsaa-record-fish--records.html |
