Sunshine & showers in the morning much brighter in the late afternoon. So a wee trip back into the woods to check up on the lesser spotted woodpeckers. The chick will fledge in the next day or two as it is getting more inquisitive as to what is 'outside'. And the smell is attracting plenty of flies, which the chick snaps up with relish.
