Up early & fancied a walk down to Ruswarp, back along the River Esk & into town and see what wildlife was about - basically none!
Normally you could possibly see deer, herons, and depending on the tide, some seals resting on the river bank.
Thinking about it the nearest bird hide is at Scaling Dam, nothing locally.
The flood plain along side the River Esk & railway line (if developed correctly) would make an excellent nature reserve.
